What is the Best Pre Workout Supplement – The Savage Review

So what is the best pre workout supplement?  To begin, this is a very difficult question to answer.  Not only are there so many pre workouts that are great in their own way, but also everybody is biologically different.

To help figure this out, we are going to cover the qualities required in a pre workout to make them better that others.  It important that the caffeine amount is not to high of to low to be effective.  It needs to have enough amino acids to give you strength and vascularity.  It also needs to taste good, and without too many artificial flavors, colors or added sugars.

crossfit-pre-workoutThe most important thing is that it works well for you.  A pre workout should give you enough energy and endurance to power through whatever type of workouts that you do.  It should also lend focus and motivation to any workout to help you accomplish your goals.

I am going to introduce you to what I think are the best pre workout supplements on the market right now.  This comes from my personal review posts on supplements that I have tried and from researching the pre workouts that I haven’t had a chance to try yet.

Pros and Cons:   All natural, caffeine free, naturally colored and flavored.  Sweetened by Stevia.

The highlights of Legion Pulse pre workout is that, it is one of the few truly “all natural” (not Organic) supplements on the market.  This means, no artificial ingredients such as artificial flavors and colors.  It is also sweetened with a natural sugar called Stevia (as opposed to Sucralose and others).

This supplement is Creatine free.  Creatine is a natural ingredient and is not harmful for you, but this ingredient is not for everyone.  There are also mixed reviews about it’s effectiveness in pre workout supplements.

It has been proven to increase weight gain from your body retaining water.   Some have complained about dehydration and nausea. Creatine also can lessen the benefits of Caffeine, which can hinder your energy levels and fat burning.

There is 350mg of Caffeine per serving which is good for me, but it may be a little too much for some.  Of course, you can adjust your serving size appropriately to compensate your level whether up or down.

Legion Pulse prides itself on the amount of L-theagine, which is provides you with a smoother more enjoyable energy rush.  This pre workout provides enough citrulline malate and beta alanine to improve blood flow and keep you from getting fatigued.  I would say that the only downside to Legion Pulse is that it costs a little more than average, but it is still well worth it.

Pros and Cons:   Claims to be the “original pre workout igniter”.  I really like the watermelon flavor, but it also comes in 4 other flavors.  Slightly above average cost for a pre workout.

The N.O. in NO Xplode stands for Nitric Oxide.  The Nitric oxide makes your muscles more vascular and increases the blood flow in both the muscles and the brain.  With the strength that Nitric Oxide gives you, comes an extra muscle pump that helps your body break down more muscle fiber, therefore building up muscle growth.

N.O.-Xplode contains 275mg of Caffeine which is a good amount for 1 serving.  This is a little more than the average, but just right for a lot of gym rats.

It is also loaded with B vitamins, so you can skip your vitamin B complex capsules.  The B vitamins give you energy and as well as other multiple functions in your body.  These include Niacin, Thiamine and Folic Acid which are all B vitamins.

N.O.-Xplode is also packed with other amino acids which help build muscle.  Creatine is an ingredient that helps to gain muscle, enhance strength and improve exercise performance.  Many people find advantages with Creatine, but usually more likely in their post workout supplement.

Manufacturer:  Old School Labs at oldschoollabs.com
Pros and Cons:  Naturally flavored and sweetened.  Claims to have a two stage formula that delivers steady energy and hydration.  Priciest pre workout in this post.

I’ve been exited to try Vintage Blast as I have heard good things about it, so I need to try it for myself.  So look for a Vintage Blast review post in the near future.  Old School Labs, the products manufacturer has it’s brands independently tested, uses all premium ingredients and has no banned substances.

Vintage Blast is not a truly “all natural” supplement, but is certified vegan.  It does not contain artificial flavors or sweeteners.  It is sweetened by Stevia and pineapple juice powder.

Vintage Blast is on the low end for Caffeine in a pre workout at 150 mg, but it does have a fair amount of Beta Alanine which works in combination with Caffeine to boost performance.  It also has L-citrulline, L-theagine, L-arginine and other amino acids to give you greater endurance and recovery.  This supplement is also Creatine free.

Their two stage formula that they advertise uses electrolytes and micronutrients to hydrate, increase performance and help with recovery.

Pros and Cons:   Premier strength endurance blend.  Stimulates testosterone production.  Great value.

This one really packs a punch, and is one of my personal favorites.  I’ve used this pre workout plenty of times and it gives me plenty of energy and performance.  Part of the reason for this is the 200mg of Caffeine which, in combination with the other ingredients, give you increased endurance to make it through your workout strong.

B-Nox claims to have a testosterone igniter to stimulate testosterone production.  As in most pre workout supplements, it also has Beta Alanine and the branch chain amino acids (BCAA’s) both which we talked about earlier.  However, there is no way to break down the quantities in this pre workout as those ingredients are all listed under a 15,890 mg “pre workout formula”.

B-nox has proven to give the endurance and strength to power through your workout, and the energy and focus to go the extra mile no matter what your exercise of choice is.

The Best Conclusionbest-pre-workout-supplement

These are some of the highest rated pre workouts on the market, as well as some of my personal favorites.  Keep in mind, that there is no such thing as a 5 out of 5 review, since one product will react differently from person to person.

The amount of Caffeine is not always a factor for which pre workout is the best, because once again we all absorb and have effects on pre workouts differently.  Price can also be a factor in picking the best pre workout, so pay attention to how many servings per container compared to the price.  For example, B-Nox is the best price based on the 35 servings for $27.99.

Keep in mind that just because a particular pre workout is the most popular, like C4 pre workout, it isn’t necessarily the best one for every person.  “Different strokes for different folks”.

I have done hands on reviews with B-Nox and N.O.-Xplode, so check out these posts if you would like to know more about them.  The Vintage Blast comes highly recommended, so I will be doing a review on that very soon.

Because there is not really a best pre workout for each individual, I left you with 4 of the best pre workout supplements.  You are also welcome to purchase in this post for the discounted prices shown.  Hope this helps in your search for the best pre workout for you.
