Rogue Crossfit Alpha Package Review – Fully Functional Crossfit Box

If you’ve never taken a close look at Rogue Fitness Equipment before, you really should. This brand is one of my top picks for several reasons, so I will explain more about this below. My Rogue Crossfit Alpha Package review will research and detail some of the best home gym equipment made by Rogue.
I don’t own this particular Alpha Crossfit package but I do own a good deal of Rogue Fitness Equipment for my daily workouts as well as for Rogue Fitness reviews. This experience, along with my fitness background, should qualify me to properly evaluate and review this top Crossfit package.
Rogue Crossfit Equipment Packages – Overview
Rogue Fitness has put together several different home gym packages (also great commercial gyms) to choose from. However this is their fans most popular selection, but in addition, I will also reveiw the second favorite, the Warrior Crossfit Package.
I’d like to encourage you to check out more of the heavy-duty and durable Rogue fitness equipment on the Rogue Fitness website. Not only does Rogue manufacture tons of exciting exercise products, but their equipment and accessories come with a sturdy warranty and a competitive price.
Rogue Alpha Crossfit Package Review
Who Needs the Rogue Fitness Alpha Crossfit Package
This package was designed as a bulletproof pack of equipment for CrossFit full-body workout purposes. If you like to train without rest and sometimes drop your barbell up from way too high, not to worry, the barbell comes with a lifetime warranty that you’d most likely never need.
The package contains all the things you would need for a full-body workout, and only lacks the tools for isolation movements like dumbbells. So if you have these at home, the Alpha package might be a great addition to your regimen. You can always accessorize other home gym equipment to complement this package.
If you are a fan of isolating exercises that focus on unilateral movements like biceps curls or triceps extensions, I’m sorry to disappoint you but the Rogue Crossfit Alpha Package isn’t for you.
Benefits and Negatives of the Rogue Alpha Crossfit Package
Pros
Contains everything you need for a full-body workout
Lifetime warranty for the nearly indestructible barbell
Many different weights and weight options to choose from
Barbell is fully customized to order/choose medicine ball size
Save money on shipping and equipment
Cons
You may not use every accessory in set
Package may be too specialized for some
What’s in the Alpha Crossfit Package
All items in this Rogue Fitness Alpha CrossFit Package review are American-made and of very high quality. You would expect the best possible CrossFit gym equipment out of Rogue since they’ve already equipped the majority of the leading CrossFit facilities on the planet.
A great thing to mention here is that although this set is labeled specifically as “CrossFit”, that doesn’t mean that it can’t be used for any other type of workouts. In fact, I highly recommend this versatile equipment for athletes, trainers, and even for some beginners.
Both the bar, weights, rope, kettlebells, and medicine ball can be used in any workout you see fit to your workout routine. But for CrossFit, they are great for a few reasons – lifetime warranty, bouncy rubber weight discs, and very solid, durable parts.
By ordering this deal you are going to get a rogue medicine ball, four kettlebells in sets of two, the Rogue Ohio bar, a set of wood rings, a set of collars for the bar, a climbing rope, a skipping rope, and an abmat. So it’s really, all you need to set up a good CrossFit workout. The only thing you might be missing out on is a pull-up bar for the doorway or a mounted garage gym pull-up bar.

One Rogue Medicine Ball
This 14” diameter ball is available in the weight of your choice between 4 and 20 lbs, which you can easily select in the dropdown menu when you order. My advice would be to go for the heaviest medicine ball. You are getting stronger each day, you may only regret not choosing a heavier option.
The ball is perfect for a variety of exercises you would otherwise be unable to perform with a dumbbell or a kettlebell.
Possible Exercises:
- ABS: V-Ups, Hay balers, Straight-leg situps, Medicine ball crunches, Overhead slam, Lunge with a twist.
- Shoulders: Shoulder press, Overhead slams, Vertical throws, Figure 8, Ball fly
- Arms: Triceps extension, Biceps curl
- Legs: Single-leg squat, Single-leg hip bridge, Romanian deadlift, Circle squats, Step ups.
- Chest/Back: Medicine ball push-ups, Rolling push-up, Lying chest toss, Weighted superman, Wall pass.
The medicine ball can be incorporated in a wide variety of full-body workouts. There are quite a few more medicine ball exercises than what I listed, and the best part is that most medicine ball movements will give you a full-body workout.

Four Rogue Kettlebells
The Rogue kettlebells are cast in a single metal piece, which makes them extremely solid and durable. You can throw these around as much as you like and the only thing you’d force on them are some scratches. The set includes two 35 lbs and two 53 lbs kettlebells. (Respectively 16 kg and 24 kg).
Possible Exercises:
- ABS: Kettlebell Slingshot, Turkish Getup,
- Shoulders: Kettlebell Halo, Kettlebell Swings (Both hands or one), Kettlebell windmills, Kettlebell cleans,
- Arms: Kettlebell Bottoms up the press, Farmers carry, Concentric Biceps curls, Overhead extensions (Both hands or one)
- Legs: Kettlebell Good Morning, Single Leg Deadlift, Goblet Squats, Racked Squats,
- Chest/Back: Single Arm Deadlift, Kettlebell Rows, Suitcase Rows
With a Kettlebell set, the possibilities for exercises are endless. I can think of 100+ exercises you can perform right away. And having in mind you are equipped with two sets of different weights, you can do a complete body workout with these alone.
The only downside of kettlebells, in general, is the difficulty of performing isolating movements, but that you can do with a bar or dumbbells if you need to stress the biceps or triceps alone.
Rogue Ohio Bar
The Rogue Ohio bar is entirely made out of steel in the U.S. In addition to this being practically indestructible, it even comes in with a lifetime guarantee against bending and breaking.
The bar’s strength is estimated to be 190,000 PSI, which means it can take so much pressure per square inch in pounds. Compare this to an average piece of steel which is only 40,000 compared to the Rogue Ohio bar, and that’s still quite a lot. The Rogue Fitness Ohio Bar barbell will last you a lifetime.
Possible Exercises:
- ABS: Seated Barbell twist, Standing barbell twist, Barbell crunch.
- Shoulders: Shoulder Press, Military press, Barbell Shrugs, Barbell Upright Rows.
- Arms: Biceps Curls, Triceps Press, Overhead triceps extension, Skullcrushers, Reverse Barbell curls, Wrist curls.
- Legs: Barbell squats, Barbell lunges, Curtsy Lunges, Calf Raises, Front squats, Sumo Deadlift, Good Morning, Box jumps, Box standups.
- Chest/Back: Deadlift, Bench Press, Bent-Over Rows, Single Arm Rows, Chest press, Pull-over.

320 LB Rogue HG Bumper Set
With the bar come the weight discs in form of rubber coated weight plates in the following sizes:
- (2) 10 lbs
- (2) 25 lbs
- (2) 35 lbs
- (4) 45 lbs
The weight discs comfortably and tightly slide into place on the Rogue Fitness barbell sleeve, and they don’t wobble around during exercises if properly strapped with the collars provided.
20’ X 1.5” Climbing Rope with Eyelet
The rope is devised from very strong manila material. I am pretty sure it can handle your whole workout crew hanging on it which means it’s stronger and more durable than it has to be. Another key part about this rope is that it requires no bracket to set it up.
Possible exercises:
- Rope climbs
- Lying suspension rows
- Several types of rope pull-ups
Set of Rogue Wood Rings
These wooden rings offer an amazing grip with or without chalk. They are very comfortable to use and have a wide enough diameter that feels comfortable when holding them, even if you’ve got larger hands. The ring straps seem just as durable as everything else in this Rogue Fitness Alpha Package.
Possible exercises:
- Suspension Eccentric Chins, Inverted Rows, One arm Offset rows, Ring pushups, Suspension face pulls
- Eccentric Y raises, Serratus Slides, Pikes, CMJs
- In and Outs, Dips, L-Sit Holds
To be honest, ring exercises were never my favorite since I got an elbow injury from them but if you are young and enthusiastic these offer many exercises that make you feel like a superhuman.
Rogue Fitness Accessories
Set of Rogue HG 2.0 Collars

These come as an addition to the bar and serve the purpose of a locking mechanism to secure your weight discs in place on the bar.
These work wonders and are very easy to use. You don’t need to squeeze them, avoiding the annoying metal springs that you have most likely had to endure in the past.
Skipping Rope (Rogue SR-3 Speed Rope)
This Skipping rope has a fancy name, but it feels average, which is okay. It does have good grips and a long enough rope length, at least for my 6′ frame.
The handles rotate and the rope feels nice in terms of weight. Regardless, I’m pretty sure you aren’t purchasing this equipment package exclusively for the skipping rope.
Abmat
The mat is comfortable enough for you to lie down and put some heavyweights on exercises like a chest press. It’s generally designed for crunches and abdominal workouts but can be used for other exercises without a problem.
