If you need something new and powerful to energize your workout, I just may have found just the thing. From the makers of Gorilla Mind is the action-packed Gorilla Mode discussed in this Gorilla Mode Pre Workout Review. This one has more effective Amino Acid proteins and the largest quantity of Caffeine than most supplements I’ve seen.
Gorilla Mode Pre Workout is not for the weak at heart. Just by looking at the Gorilla pre workout ingredient matrix, I knew to start out with less than the full dose.
I’m going to breakdown the active ingredients in this pre workout and give comparisons to other top brands. I will also list some of the benefits and the possible negatives of this product. We will be rating this pre workout with market research, my personal experience, Q & A discussions, and other product reviews.

Gorilla Mode Pre Workout Review
Gorilla Mode is an aggressively dosed pre workout formula designed for intense pumps, incredible energy, increased athletic performance, and laser focus.
I first discovered this product while doing another review called “what is the best pre workout with Creatine”. I’ve done many pre workout reviews, but when I stumbled upon this one, I did a double-take.
Well, this had the largest amount of Creatine that I could find in a pre workout. In fact, it was one of the only ones that actually contained the clinically recommended dose of 5 grams per serving. This means that you don’t have to purchase a separate Creatine supplement to get the extra muscle gains with Gorilla.
I enjoyed the Gorilla Mode Tigers Blood flavor which was fairly strong with the 2 scoop full dose option. Ratings showed that many people consider this one to be the best Gorilla Mode flavor. A possible negative that I didn’t care for is that it contains artificial coloring and flavoring. Personally, I don’t care if the color isn’t pretty in a pre workout or even if it tastes like crap.
Gorilla gave me all of the power, endurance, and energy that I needed. I will caution again to start out with a smaller serving. My tolerance to pre workouts and Caffeine enabled me to take the full amount without getting headaches or anxiety.
Gorilla Mode Pre Workout ingredients make the most “maxed out” formula I’ve seen on the market when comparing them ingredient for ingredient. Even a half dose is more potent than the average pre workout in the industry. Next are some key benefits that most will expect from this supplement.
If you have any comments or questions about this review portion, please leave a message at the bottom and I will respond.
Gorilla Mode Pre Workout Positives
- One of the strongest pre workouts on the market
- Top of its category with 350 mg of Caffeine
- More than double the L-Citrulline of some pre workouts
- Proven to provide the biggest pumps and longest endurance
- Intense energy and focus
- The most Creatine in its class
- Two different dosing options
- Contains ingredients with special hydrating qualities
- Zero sugar, calories or carbs
- Good taste for being so concentrated
- Contains elements for better Amino Acid absorption
- Natural and artificial flavors
- This pre workout will be too strong for some
- Sucralose is a sugar substitute
- This is not an Organic or All Natural pre workout
- Concentrated ingredients don’t mix as well
Taste and Mixability
Whether you take the one or two scoop option will definitely determine the strength of the flavor and how well it mixes. If you are like me, you take a little more of a serving with the current pre workout that you are using.
This assumes that you are currently taking a pre workout supplement. If not, keep in mind that this is not a beginner supplement, so be very careful with your quantity.
Tiger’s Blood, which is a mixture of watermelon, strawberry and coconut had a great taste. Mainly from natural and artificial flavors. The other available flavor is mango peach.
The directions say to mix with 12-14 oz of water and drink 30 minutes before exercise. For a full dose (2 scoops), you may want to add a little more water. I prefer a couple of cubes of ice to shake mine with.
Gorilla Pre Workout doesn’t mix quite as well as some other pre workouts. This is because there are simply more active ingredients in this product. This may require a little more water to mix well. The other reason is that it contains a large amount of Creatine Monohydrate, which is not very soluble.
Take your pre workout on an empty stomach if possible. Using stimulants on an empty stomach rather than a full stomach can be like night and day.
Gorilla Pre Workout isn’t the only powder on the market that has a “double dose” option, but I feel that this is one of the strongest. What I call a “double dose” or 2 scoops, Gorilla considers to be a “full dose”.
When using a “full dose”, this will cost you a little over $2.oo per serving. Still half the price of most energy drinks. When using the one scoop option, It will be closer to $1.00 per serving since then, there will then be 40 servings per container.
I do quite a few pre workout reviews, and the average price for a quality pre workout generally is between $1.00-$2.00 per serving. That being said, Gorilla Mode pre workout has a little higher price tag, but consider that you are getting one of the most potent pre workouts in the industry.
Creatine and Caffeine Heavy Alternate Pre Workout
Here is an awesome alternate product for you to try. It’s packed with both Creatine and its High-Stim.
Black Powder Pre Workout
Creatine Per Serving: 5.5 grams of Monohydrate/Magnesium Creatine
Container size: 60 servings
Rating: 4.7 out of 5
Manufacturer: MRI Performance
Guarantee: 30 day satisfaction guarantee
This is the top dog for optimal results with 5500mg of Creatine Monohydrate and Magnesium Creatine Chelate (just Creatine+Magnesium). It’s just slightly over the recommended serving of Creatine, but still safe and effective.
As far as energy, it’s not only propelled by 100mg of Caffeine, but also contains ElevATP, Caffeine Citrate, and two types of vitamin B. These all work together for strong and long-lasting pre workout energy. This pre workout blend also supports hydration and provides a fat-burning ingredient called Black Pepper Extract.
Black Powder Pre Workout has plenty of Beta-Alanine and other amino acids for pump and endurance. I do feel a small potential drawback in that there is not Citrulline, only because I’m a big fan. However, it does have Arginine which is a similar amino acid.
Black Powder Positives
- Contains the best clinical dose of Creatine
- 100mg of Caffeine plus several other energy-producing ingredients
- 2000 grams of Beta-Alanine
- Contains thermogenics for fat burn
- Great price at 60 servings per container
- No L-Citrulline
- Natural and artificial flavors
Gorilla Pre Workout vs Typical Pre Workouts
I’m not going to compare quantity differences for every ingredient, but Gorilla surpasses many of the other pre workouts in strength and concentration.
Here are examples of the three most critical ones…
High Dose of L-Citrulline
Gorilla pre workout features the highest dose of L-Citrulline in the industry. This is a natural Amino Acid that is known to be the second most effective ingredient in pre workout supplements.
It’s the L-Citrulline which spikes your body to produce Nitric Oxide, resulting in increased pumps, endurance, and decrease muscle pain and stiffness.
Top of the Market in Caffeine
The number one pre workout ingredient is Caffeine, and Gorilla contains one of the highest contents at 350 mg. Caffeine is proven to provide not only energy, but also motivation, intense drive, and focus.
This stimulant mimics the actions of adrenaline, dopamine, noradrenaline, and serotonin to make you feel on top of the world. 350 mg will keep Caffeine levels elevated throughout the entire duration of your workout and beyond.
Because of this, don’t take Gorilla pre workout anywhere near bedtime.
Contains Plenty of Creatine
Gorilla Mode Pre Workout is the only pre workout that contains the recommended dose of 5 grams of Creatine. From my experience, many pre workouts don’t contain any Creatine at all, and the ones that do fall far below the clinical amount.
Creatine saturates your muscles to induce massive pumps, hydration endurance, and power. This supplement is proven to increase muscle mass.
Gorilla Pre Workout Ingredients
This pre workout lists two different serving size options. There is a one scoop serving or a two scoop full dose serving. I recommend starting with even less than one scoop on your first try. I’ve listed the Gorilla Mode ingredients below based on the “full daily dose”.
Like most exercise supplements, this is not an FDA approved pre workout, but the individual ingredients have passed the test.
L-Citrulline – 9000 mg
This is the key ingredient that increases muscle pump, brings extra strength, and gives longer muscle endurance.
To do this, L-Citrulline syntheses into Nitric Oxide which works to vascularize your system, bringing more nutrients and hydration to your muscle tissue.
I love the 9000 mg. This is probably the largest concentration of this Amino Acid that you will see.
Creatine Monohydrate – 5000 mg
This substance is naturally processed in your body or comes from the food you eat. However, when you supplement this in larger concentrations, it gives proven muscle performance benefits.
GlycerPump – Glycerol Powder – 3000 mg
This element significantly performance by hyper-hydrating the muscle with water. Exercise removes most of the excess water from your body via the kidneys. Water alone will not hydrate your muscles properly.
Betaine Anhydrous – 2500 mg
Betaine helps balance fluid levels in the cells, thus creating intracellular hyper-hydration. Keeping cells hydrated, increases muscle pump and helps to prevent dehydration during exercise.
L-Tyrosine – 1500 mg
This is an Amino Acid that has amazing cognitive enhancing effects. L-Tyrosine has the ability to improve mental sharpness, energy levels, focus, and mood elevation.
Agmatine Sulfate – 1000 mg
This is another substance that has shown to increase Nitric Oxide production. This results in improved overall performance. Agmatine also can manipulate pain receptors to increase pain tolerance when lifting.
Kanna – 500 mg
This is a herb that recently started being used in the pre workout supplement industry. It can lower stress, increase focus and elevate mood.
Caffeine Anhydrous – 350 mg
Anhydrous is simply a dehydrated powder version of Caffeine rather than a liquid form. Caffeine is what gives you the energy, focus, and motivation to power through your workout.
This natural stimulant also works as a thermogenic to help burn calories.
N-Phenethyl Dimethylamine Citrate – 350 mg
PEA increases the release of serotonin, dopamine, adrenaline, and norepinephrine. These neurotransmitters impact energy levels, cognitive function and overall mood.
BioPerine – Black Pepper Extract – 10 mg
This enzyme works to break down Caffeine and noradrenaline molecules making these stimulants last longer and hit harder.
Huperzine A – 400 mcg
This is a neurotransmitter that gives you optimal muscle contractions during exercise. This helps stabilize your muscular system. Huperzine is also shown to enhance focus, memory, and overall cognitive function.
Other Excellent Gorilla Mind Products
The “Gorilla” product line has quite a selection of top-rated exercise and health supplements available. I don’t have enough space to introduce all of them, so I’ll stick to the highlights.
Gorilla Mind Rush
INTENSE FOCUS · INSANE PRODUCTIVITY This is the one that started the whole Gorilla movement. Just like their pre workout, this is a strong and very effective Gorilla supplement. This is a brain booster that provides intense sustainable focus.
Gorilla Mind Rush is the most powerful cognitive-enhancing dietary supplement that you can buy. The focus and concentration do not rely on stimulants to get these effects but on nootropic ingredients. These are a host of natural cognitive enhancing compounds.
Gorilla Mind Smooth
This is the ‘low-stimulant’ version of GorillaMind. It provides a smoother, less extreme level of energy. However, the Gorilla Mind pre workout still maximizes the intense level of focus and heightened mental clarity that this line of supplements are known for.
Gorilla Mind Smooth contains the best Stim-free productivity for those that are Caffeine sensitive. It’s a very strong concentration of nootropics without any jitters or anxiety. These effects will last approximately 6-8 hours with no crash.
Gorilla Mode Pre Workout Reviews
Besides the 8.8 out of 10 it received in my Gorilla Mode review, Gorilla pre workout gets tons of other positive reviews. Here is an example of a pretty thorough review description.
Gorilla Pre Workout Review Wrap-Up
This is the strongest pre workout supplement I have reviewed to date, and one of the most powerful on the market.
The concentration of the Amino Acid proteins, Caffeine, and nootropics is twice the concentration of most other brands. All of this comes without any filler ingredients.
There is an option to take a half dose which I strongly caution if you are a beginner. So far I haven’t found any GorillaMode side effects in my research. Also, I consider the pricing for this product to be fairly competitive.
⇒ If you are serious about improving your workouts by utilizing this incredible energy and lasting endurance, not to mention the mental focus and the muscle pumps, I recommend giving Gorilla a try.
The benefits of brain health, focus, and mental support are becoming a big plus in pre workout supplements as well. For additional increased cognitive-enhancing effects, the Gorilla Mind Company has introduced Gorilla Mind Rush and Gorilla Mind Smooth(stim-free).
